The short version: we eat, breathe, sleep, love, live music.
Slightly longer version: Fresh & Noble promotes the music that we love. Not all of the music of course as there is just way too much but at least a flavour of what tickles our fancy. And we hope it tickles yours too.
We will promote music through this blog by writing about artists, labels, events, films and anything else that may be of interest to you. At no time will we accept any form of payment or compensation for writing about something. We will only write about what we truly love and believe in.
Fresh & Noble will also promote events in Ireland (and abroad). We have started this by holding screenings of music documentaries in Dublin and in Cork with musical guests planned to play at Fresh & Noble shows starting in March 2011 (and beyond).
F&N has been started by cubikmusik (colin) and confused eclectic (evan) but will play host to guest contributors that we have befriended along the way primarily via twitter). These contributors include Paul Riley, Roni (with his 6 notes of separation series from Israel), Carlos from West Coast USA, DJ Kwak in Brussels and others. If you would like to contribute please email either colin@freshandnoble.com or evan@freshandnoble.com
The name ‘fresh & noble’ comes from a second hand CD picked up by Colin in Dublin in the 90s’. The ‘Fresh & Noble Orchestra’ were a japanese 9 piece jazz band and the album of jazz standards was created using original scores of jazz standards created for 9 piece bands. This name , and the story behind it, conveys some of our philosophy when it comes to music. We love the sounds. Good music is good music (regardless of ‘genre’) and the story behind the music is sometimes as important as what you hear.
Our logo was designed by Nathan and John in Room Three. Great stuff.
If you have music you’d like us to hear and write about drop us an email or via our soundcloud dropbox.
